In recent years, Brutalism has undergone a significant reassessment, sparking renewed interest in its aesthetic and conceptual qualities. Originally emerging in the post-war era as a raw and functional response to destruction and the urgent need for reconstruction, this movement has taken on new meaning today. The brutal becomes a lens through which to interpret our time, where brutality is not merely a characteristic of design, art, or architecture, but a defining feature of everyday life.
This contemporary brutality manifests itself starkly in armed conflicts but is also reflected in social phenomena such as inequality, environmental disasters, and economic instability. Digital communication channels, particularly social media, amplify the perception of this violence, making it an inescapable presence. In this context, brutality is not just a depiction of reality—it becomes a symbol of the failure of collective structures to uphold order and justice.
